Privacy policy

DG Electric Mobility (Pty) Ltd, trading as Tromox SA, is the responsible party for personal information collected through tromoxsa.com and in our dealings with you. We process it in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. What we collect

• Contact and delivery details: name, email, phone, address.
• Order details: products bought, amounts, delivery notes. Card details are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store them.
• For motorcycle sales: ID number, date of birth and licensing details needed to register the bike.
• Site usage: IP address, pages viewed, device and browser, collected through cookies.

2. Why we use it

To process and deliver orders, register and license motorcycles, handle warranty and returns, answer your questions, improve our website and meet legal and tax duties. We send marketing only if you opt in, and every message lets you unsubscribe.

3. Legal basis

We process your information with your consent, to perform our contract with you, to meet legal obligations, or for our legitimate business interests.

4. Who we share it with

Only those who help us serve you: Shopify (online store), payment providers, couriers and vehicle transporters, licensing authorities and our accountants, and government bodies where the law requires. Some providers store data outside South Africa under safeguards POPIA requires. We never sell or rent your information.

5. Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information. We keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above, and for at least 5 years for tax and accounting records.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to its use, or withdraw marketing consent. Contact our Information Officer below. You may also complain to the Information Regulator at inforeg.org.za.

7. Cookies

We use cookies to run the cart and checkout and to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, though checkout may not work without them.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date.
